I looked at my feet ...

I had turned off the highway and down a gravel road to a place called Picnic Springs campground. It wasn't far but it sure messed up my schedule. A few minutes turned into an hour and more. Luckily the snow was only an inch or two and I had the Jeep anyway. The landscapes held my attention until I glanced at the fallen cones in the snow. D700/24-120 and frozen fingers.

well, back home at the ranch .. its a little cooler here in Saskatchewan. But it is nice to able to work on the big machines with some processing juice and some screen size. I can kinda see what I'm doing. This image was taken with a Sigma 85/1.4 on a D3x.

trying to be fair ...

I'm trying to process at least one image from every model I worked with on the workshops. Its hard to just pick one. So I sit here in my lonely cabin in the Texas hills ( home for the next couple of nights) and work away ...

back on dry land, and time to begin the drive north. Could be a long one.

slowly, the images will come as I see the possibilities ... As I understand the tools, I appreciate the options.

last day ...

it wasn't until I actually thought about it that I realized I hadn't done my daily drug regimen in a few days. There had been no signs - until I thought about it. Oh well, back to the pills. I think this particular place has seeped into my bones. Still way too many people though.

I thought I had them beat ...

the USVI bug bites lasted 2 weeks and only started to go away toward the end of the workshops. I thought that Rincon was blessed with fewer. Until I went to work the sunset at Pools beach. Spent the night itching and scratching again. The anti-itch stuff doesn't work too good and heat makes them worse. Maybe it was just a sunset thing. Maybe I should go back to mid-day sports.

I see the light ...

sometimes, we get blessed by a confluence of physical elements that coalesce into a powerful whole.
With this image, it was about the setting sun ... and, of course, a perfect model.

for something a little different ...

I went from my comfort zone to something from my distant past. I ran into problems that would have been easily solved had I remembered things. Its the missing brain cells as I sit here and destroy some more. I went to find out something and discovered something else. I went back to my comfort zone.

the simple things ....

I don't know about you, but I am realizing more and more that I simply accumulated too much. And too much of the too much is simply baggage. At what point do you say, "No." Its not just the physical objects but the mental trash as well. Today, I am in Rincon, Puerto Rico. In some repects, nicer than the Virgin Islands although the image comes from the workshops there. It is, "like Venus, emerging ..."

its all in the eyes ...

my first impression of Elaya was of her eyes. They are simply beautiful. I knew that at some point I would simply have to photograph her face and eyes. Thank-you, Elaya.

its been awhile ...

and the hound is gone. Not forgotten. The hound of round was unique. He goes with me wherever I go. Anyway, he would have liked some of the aspects of the 2 weeks in the USVI. He would have liked the people but hated the heat. He would have starved and never had enough to drink.

enjoying the time ...

since finding out about Rex's kidney issues, each day turns into another treasure. His favourite pastime is driving, so we see things.

for something different ...

sometimes you just have to shoot something different to keep fresh ...

a new theme ....

it was a perfect day to photograph yesterday - and I've found something new to consider as a theme I'm sure I'm not the first.
