with only the clouds to work with ...

time for our Sunday drive, so we went to get some water and other stuff - the big clouds were moving out leaving some high trailing tendrils. That means IR time so ....

riding mountain

so, after 20 days of sorta rest, went for a drive. Thought there might be some nice flowers up in the west side of Riding Mountain but there was too much grass and it was purple flower time but some nice light .... this is Deep Lake where there is some nice camping by yourself.

we went to Regina yesterday, the storms built up east of the city during the day. We went south to Minton and then east. The clouds were not usable until Gladmar.

every once in awhile ...

you run across things that are as inquisitive about you as you are about them. You share the moment.

it was one of those days ...

where you start off reasonably good and go downhill from there ... this from June 13 in Riding Mountain -Rex would not swim, he would lay in the water but does not swim ... that day was a better day.

a matter of respect

there are no mountain ranges around here, no seashores, no badlands, indeed almost no hills, few trees.  The land is relatively flat, small aspen groves here and there.  The big trees are usually the sign of habitation - past and present.  I am attracted to the old farmsteads, the reminders of past toils.  Those that remain will not be here long, they cover arable land, they act as magnets to scavengers of all sorts.  The problem is the human ones.  These places still belong to someone else - sometimes they are even wanted as reminders of old homes.  But they are looted and abused, act as dumping grounds for townspeople who don't want to pay for their own garbage removal.  Is it too much to ask of these people to act as they would want their own property to be treated?

it was just for water ....

Rex and I went for a drive on Sunday to load up on water and to check out some cameras.  It was a nice day.  We were fortunate that the springs were open.  After driving through some semi-ghost towns, we ended up south of Miniota for sunset in the Assiniboine valley where I discovered its always important to make sure film is in the camera.
